SportsFest
Many years ago, Senior Pastor Enoka Peni saw the need of HOPE in our society. His vision was, and still is, to reach out to the people in our local community and one exciting way was through sports.
SportsFest was created in 2004 held on the Easter long weekend to reflect and celebrate the Christian message of Jesus.
Since then the annual event only grew each and every year. It successfully ran for 12 years, ending in 2015.
SportsFest was a one of a kind FREE event to the community that brought together local and not so local people, from all walks of life to share in a two day sporting event over the Easter long weekend in Sydney.
The community was invited to celebrate Easter outside four walls and reflect in a fun and friendly outdoor environment, in hand with the glorious message of Easter; new beginning, love, forgiveness, eternal life, victory and so much more.
With the support of our local businesses, the community could participate in various Competitions; volleyball, mixed touch football, tug of war, table tennis and basketball 3point shoot out.
Kids had a blast at the ‘Kids Club’ where they were well looked after with jumping castles, face fainting and lots of fun games.
An eclectic range of Stalls provided a wide variety of delicious food and beverages along with clothing and accessories.
Entertainment was also a major part of our weekend event, with praise and worship along with God’s Word as our foundation.
Our congregation thank God for the fantastic experience SportsFest was to us!
